Jennifer Hanson CAT(C), BKin

Jen first began her training in Calgary, Alberta where she completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology with a Major in Athletic Therapy. Jen certified as an Athletic Therapist in 2005 and began working with a variety of sports teams, including Hockey Canada’s female hockey program.

When Jen first began treating clinically, she was on a fairly conventional therapeutic career path, using traditional orthopaedic assessment and treatment techniques. A few years ago she realized that these techniques were only helping her patient so much. Jen decided to enhance her therapy skills and understanding of the human body by enrolling at the Canadian School of Osteopathy Manual Practice in 2010. Jen is currently enrolled in her 5th and final year of studies and hopes to complete her thesis in May 2016. Jen has also completed additional training in the treatment of concussions from the Osteopathic approach, Muscle Energy Techniques and McKenzie Method for lower back and neck pain.

Through Jen’s education and experience she enjoys and welcomes the opportunity to continue to learn and improve her skills. She appreciates the interrelationship between structure and function of the human body and recognizes the body’s ability to heal itself, and her role to help facilitating that process. Jen feels passionate about helping people optimize their heath and improve their quality of life.
